The Niagara Area Figure Skating Council represents 13 clubs in the Niagara Region. Niagara Area council meetings are a centre for the clubs to meet, network and exchange information. The council is a resource to clubs offering knowledge and experience and support. The Council organizes and administers competitions held in Niagara Region, volunteer and skater's development seminars, the Gold Medal Dinner and the Niagara Bursary. The Council represents the Niagara Region at the Western Ontario Section and is a liason between clubs and the WOS.
   
  The Niagara Council is a very pro-active organization and is always trying to move the sport of figure skating forward. Established in 2002, the Council awards one (1) Post Secondary School Scholarship in the amount of $1200.00 for a skater in our region.
   
  The Niagara Skating Council Chairperson is Liz Mannell, the Vice Chair is Yvonne Haines, the Treasurer is Leila Murray, the Secretary is Brenda Veldhuizen and the Past Chair is Nancy Hamilton.
